Banana Pancakes

Just made the most delicious pancakes for everyone today - I hav never made fluffy American ones before and they wend down a treat with some honey and bananas. yummy.

I have a lovely day planned even if the weather outside is a bit grey and grotty. Some laundry and some housework and some making with H and later on I shall put a maccaroni in the oven. Comfort food of the highest order!
speak to you later xx

MAD HARRY

DSC01934, originally uploaded by Gill's World.

Spring

The very fine blog at Curious Girl has the one of the nicest yet simplest descriptions of spring I have heared so far this year:  whole lotta love

From the Miss Wallflower tumblr ... my rules to live by (must get it laminated).....

p.s Everton lost 1.0 :-(

media blackout

I am having a lovely morning...so far .....

The skies are blue and we have some sunshine. The air is lovely and crisp and you can sense Spring is around the corner. I have the desire to renew and move out of my sluggish state of hibernation.

I have taken Harry to his swimming lesson and now I am back. I have fed the birds, got the laundry routine going, cleaned the kitchen and have made a lovely spicy parsnip soup and a vegetable chilli for this evening.

While all this comforting domesticity goes on I am feeling way to edgy. It is Derby Day and Everton are playing Liverpool at Anfield. I do not have a ticket and I refuse to listen to it on the radio or look at the scores on BBC Sport - I am the world's worst Jinx if I do.

COME ON YOU BLUEBOYS!!!!

Friday evenings

Friday evenings are the best. The end of a busy week, just done the weekly shop, Harry has his Top Gear cards and I have my glass of Red. All is well in the world.

We have a tradition here for friday nights - Pizza and Pyjama night we settle in and watch a film, always one that H picks which is not that bad. We are currently watching Ironman and I am curled up on the sofa reading my blogs.

I used to buy magazines every month, now I get everything I need from blogs, I love it! and its cheaper - so I can spend my pennies on something else,or even save them in my holiday tin.

Hope you are all having a nice evening

see you later xxx

Friday

Just having a quick tea break and a catch up. I have been working since 7.45. Sitting here thinking about a lovely weekend pottering about the house. This is a rare event for me so I am filling the weekend with some drawing and some writing, trying out my new Muji coloured pencils (I heared that the colours were something else and they are right ...very Gill colours!) I am also planning some cooking and H and I may make some rock buns.
